In this year’s edition of the graphic story contest on the Warsaw Rising we would like to go beyond the 63 days of fighting and focus on what went on in the capital and in Poland after the Warsaw Rising.

We want to rediscover the postwar fate of Insurgents and civilians, not only residents of Warsaw but also residents of other towns and cities, who after the war helped Insurgents, hid members of the Polish Underground State and helped them start a new life. The topic of this year’s contest entitled AFTER THE RISING also refers to the history of the so-called Cursed Soldiers and activities of the anti-communist underground.

The goal of the contest „Rising‘44 in graphic story” is to interest young people in the history of the Warsaw Risings and encourage them to artistically investigate this topic. To date the Museum has organised five editions of the contest, including three international editions.
